倉敷のご報告も年を越してしまいました。飛び切り寒い冬のせいでもしておきますか・・・寒いのが苦手なものですから間もなく東南アジアを巡る36日間のクルーズにでかけます。おもしろいご報告ができればと思っています。

My Kurashiki report slowed down and jumped the border between the two years. I blame that for an extremely cold winter here. I am sort of freezing. Pretty soon I will go on a cruise to the Southeast Asian countries for 36 days to melt myself to normal. lol

倉敷といえば大原美術館。新田・塩田開発と倉敷川の水運の利を生かして富を築き倉敷紡績を築いた大原家の大原孫三郎氏が1930年に設立した日本で初めての西洋美術館。

 Kurashiki is the home of Japan’s first museum for Western art, the Ohara Museum of Art. Established in 1930 by Magosaburo Ohara, a successor of a wealthy textile family, it has paintings by El Greco, Monet, Matisse, Gauguin, Renoir and many others’. The collection also presents fine of Asian and contemporary art, including exquisite pottery and wood block prints. The main building is designed in the style of Neoclassicism.
