秋はいろいろなお楽しみを運んできてくれる。そのひとつに、大事にしていたワインを開けてゆったりとそれを楽しむ夕べを持つ気分になれること。
今日は、Sandeman Vau Vintage Porto。ガーネットのような深い色。厭味のない甘さのなかに干しブドウ、プラム、ヴァニラ、チョコレートなどのアロマが立ちのぼる。舌の上にはその香りが長くどどまるのに、サイドディッシュのチョコレートなどともよく合う。「神の雫」という表現が口を突いて出る。
地球を半周して海を渡ってもたらされたこの深い味わいと感動。送り主への感謝とともに、このワインが立ち寄ってきた港々を想い、秋の夜は更けてゆく。
Autumn brings about various pleasures and joy as well as other seasons. One of them is longer night hours to open a bottle of wine that I have treasured and waited to open for some time, when I feel relaxed to taste it fully. Sandeman Vau Vintage Porto is for today.
Aromas of raisin, chocolate, plum, vanilla and others lurk in a garnet hue, and sweet flavour and the aromas spread and last on the palate.
The wine came crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the Panama Canal and the Pacific Ocean with a couple who gave it to us. It makes me imagine all those places its ship called in the autumn night.
